Susan Boyle celebrated a milestone when she turned sixty earlier this year. She decided to publish previously unseen photographs of her as a child.

Looking back on your earlier days in life is always remarkable.

Back in 2008, Susan was unemployed and lived alone with her cat, Pebbles. Susan always dreamed of making it in show business. When she performed I Dreamed a Dream from Les Misérables in front of Simon Cowell and the rest of the Britain’s Got Talent judges, Susan became an instant success.

The audition gained her recognition all over the world the world as her journey inspired millions.

“I used to be a kind of spectator looking outward at the world. But now I’m part of that world and, though frightening, I’m going to embrace it,” Boyle said after her breakthrough.

Susan Boyle has always been down to earth and genuinely caring and never flashed her cash. In 2010, she bought a house in Scotland.

”It’s best to be grounded and with your roots. It keeps you grounded and prevents you from saying things maybe you shouldn’t say,” she explained.

Susan’s love life

Susan always preferred to keep her life private. However through interviews we know she has experienced a lot of heartache over the years from her feud with her brother, battle with diabetes and her inspiring weight loss journey. However Susan Boyle’s love life has always been a mystery. Many have questioned why she never had a husband or family.

So, what’s the deal

Susan had a very tough childhood her school friends always referred to her as ”Simple Susan.” She never had a boyfriend or a significant romantic relationship during her youth.

Susan prioritised look after her sick mother which left little time for dating.

The tabloids became curious about her romantic life.

In 2012, Susan was asked if she was trying to find love through the Internet and she told reporters she was too scared to explore that alternative.

“Internet dating? Are you having a laugh? Knowing my luck I’d go out on a date and you’d find my limbs scattered around various Blackburn dustbins!” she jokingly mentioned.

Susan believed in letting things happen naturally and that she wasn’t going to ”shop a man on Internet”.

She also blames her single status on her strict, Catholic parents.

‘”My parents were stalwart Catholics, and there was a kind of coded behavior I had to keep to — that’s why I’m still single. Simply put, the right guy hasn’t come along yet,” she said.

Susan does eventually want to meet a longterm partner.

”If my soulmate is out there then I will find him but it won’t be on a computer. Of course I’d like that special someone in my life, but I’m not going to let a man define me. I’ve done pretty well over the past 51 years without one but it would be nice,” the Scottish star said.

Secret romance in Florida

Once she found romance sparks flew.

According to Susan Boyle, she met ”the perfect gentleman” during her U.S. tour in 2014. The man, an American doctor from Connecticut, stayed at the same luxury hotel as Susan in Florida and was a big fan.

On their first date the pair enjoyed romantic lunch together.

“It’s very early days so we’ll see what happens. I hope he comes over,” Susan didn’t want to reveal too much about the relationship and her new partner.

“I don’t want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I’ll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy,” Boyle said.

”Went for a massage…”

Susan had strong feelings for him but unfortunately the relationship didn’t last.

”I had a date in America six years ago, which lasted exactly 45 minutes. I went for a massage in the spa of a hotel and met a doctor, and then we went out for lunch. I didn’t tell anyone, and my team thought I’d been kidnapped,” she said.

The short-lived relationship confirmed the rumors and speculations that surrounded Susan Boyle’s romances – it was quite symptomatic of her love life so far. Over the years, she’s had a really hard time finding a man she loves and a man that fits in to her everyday life.

Susan had almost given up hope of getting married.

”I’ve been on my own too long now to get married. It’s good manners to wait to be asked, so I’ll just have to continue to keep waiting,” she explained.

Susan still receives emails from fans who want to take her out. During a tour in Japan, a fan proposed to her.

”If I get fan letters from men, I’m flattered that they like me,” she says.

While she patiently waits to meet ”Mr Right”, she has always wanted to be a mother and have children of her own.

”I’ve never had any of my own, that’s my biggest regret, but I love kids. They’re good fun to be with,” she told The Sun.

Susan has opened up on perhaps adopting or becoming a foster parent for children who need a safe and loving home.

“I’ve a lovely house, why not share it?” she said.

Susan we hope someday you find the love of your life.
